Lots To Talk About

Here it is Monday again. This day always seems to sneak up on me and I have to think fast about what to write about on my blog. But, there are a lot of things going on, so I will announce what they are and go from there.

First, my father's memorial is tomorrow and afterwards the celebration of life party where I work. VFW has been kind enough to rent us one of the halls for a contribution and I am very grateful to them. My sister and I have been back and forth with emails and texts making sure we have everything together, and then shopping for food and decorations. It's been wonderful spending this extra time with her, I just wish it was under different circumstances. Although I am grateful that my father's death was a peaceful one, I miss him terribly and I really haven't given myself time to morn. Tomorrow will be a tough day.

Second, I finally came up with the titles and the title of the series for my books. YAY! That was a major accomplishment because it was weighing heavy on my mind for months. My original title was The Last Guardian, but once I put that in the Amazon search engine, that ended that! There are thousands of books with that title, or at least it is part of that title. So, next the brainstorming began and finally an idea everyone likes, whew...
The title of the series is The Lorn Prophecy and the first book in the series is Fable. I can't tell you the rest because I don't want anyone to use it before me. It is a play on words to bring the books together.

Third, I want to announce I will be having some wonderful author guests in the next few weeks starting with Sandra Sookoo on May 30th. I know it's a Wednesday, and I normally blog on Monday's and Thursday's but that's the day that works for her. She is a very busy lady with all her books and writing. Although, Sandra writes romance, she is pumping out the books and is very popular in her genre, and there is romance in my book. I like to have a variety of authors as guests because it is all about the books for me, and Sandra is very accomplished in her field. I hope that you welcome her and post comments. I will also have a new friend of mine Marilyn Rice, from England and a writer with several books under her belt too. She has been very supportive of me and I look forward to having her as a guest. And finally, I will be doing an interview in June with Michelle Benavidez, who is a wonderful woman. She is walking from Colorado to Illinois to raise awareness for veterans and their families. She lost her son in the Iraq war and to me she is brave and has a big heart. She deserves some attention and support for what she is doing and I look forward to having her as my guest.

So, you see I have had a busy few weeks and I am ready for a vacation. To bad I have to wait until September to do that, but I will be going to Florida with my Mother, Sister and my husband. I am looking forward to some R&R!

Now I am done with my announcements and my musings for now. I would love to hear any comments from my followers, I look forward to them. I hope all of you have a wonderful and prosperous week! See you on Thursday.

Love Lisa

  1. You are a very busy person! You MUST give yourself time to mourn. It's always the same - I did the same thing with my brother and sister, rushing around organizing, immediately after our father's death. The Lorn Prophecy is a great title for your series. Good luck with everything!

  2. Thanks Petchary, I appreciate your good advice! I am going to take some time out to morn. I am thinking a day in the mountains with my husband, maybe go to one of the natural spring pools and relax, then a nice hike. I am also glad you like the title to my series. I hope you have a great week!

  3. I know that these last few weeks have been overwhelming for you. You deserve a day in the mountains. You and Rick get away. Laugh, cry, relax.

I was so excited to hear the names chosen for your series. The Lorn Prophecy is perfect as are the individual book titles. Very happy that this piece is out of the way for you.

The memorial and the life celebration were beautiful. I know you all worked hard to make it so. You have such a great family.
