Take A Time Out

Vacation, one of my favorite words. Also, one of my favorite things to do. Every year we try to come up with a way to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives, but sometimes we have to keep putting it off. It could be for many different reasons, maybe not affordable this year, or maybe you can't get time off. But, I say, stop making excuses and find a way to take some time out for yourself.

You could take a weekend and go camping, or if you are near a recreational area, such as mountains or the beach, you can just head there for a few days. If you don't, then check into a hotel far from home, (at least 100 miles) and visit that town or that area for a weekend. There is always a place where you can get away.

Last year we didn't go anywhere and I am now paying the price. I am tired and restless and wanting to get away as soon as possible. The stress builds up and my shoulders get tight, I am looking for ways to go somewhere soon. I have had plenty of years where I could only afford (and that's barely) just a weekend up in the Rockies, but it was enough. We would go to one of the mountain towns that had natural hot springs and by the time the weekend was over, I would have to be poured into the car from being so relaxed.

Actually, that is my favorite thing to do. This year though, we are going to Florida in the fall. I haven't been to the sunshine state since I was 10 yrs old and I am looking forward to seeing the ocean and eating good seafood! We are going there to spread some of my father's ashes in the ocean, but we will also get to visit with family and stay in a condo off an island in the gulf. I will be able to step out the door and walk a few steps and be in the ocean, love that idea!

I have not had a vacation where I leave the state in years, so this is big for me. But what ever you can do this year, do it. Take time out to enjoy and relax. You owe to yourself. We all work hard to pay bills, now is time for you, you deserve it!

Leave me a comment and tell me what your planning this year, I would love to know what you have come up with.

Love, Lisa
