There have been those that have tried to correct me, 'isn't it spell Djinn?' but I'm hear to say, not in my world it's not. The people in my world are the Djen, and their world, Djenrye. They are not going to come out of a lantern when you rub it and deem you three wishes. They are a magical race that live on the other side, in another dimension, and like us, some of them are good and some bad.
They have one main purpose, to protect the planet, and in doing so, they protect us. Sure, the Rebels have other thoughts in mind, but that is where Stevie and the prophecy come into play, to try to stop their destruction. At least that's the plan.
There are also other magical beings in this world, one's that are familiar to you, and there are some races that aren't. They have different abilities and live different lives than of the Djen, but most work together for a common goal.
Kind of like here in our world. Trying to turn around the mess we've caused. Wouldn't that be nice?!
Their world is simple. No cars or airplanes. No huge cities filled with an over abundance of people, each trying to survive this unforgiving world. They live off the land, and they give back to the land.
For thousands of years they have followed the instructions of the Gods and Goddesses. To protect the balance of the Earth, but of course, there is always someone who wants to be in control. Hence, the bad guy.
Now, I'm not going to say anything more, but if you love action, intrigue, magic, urban fantasy mixed with medieval fantasy, conflict, romance, and of course, a series, you will love my books. At least, I hope!
It's something new, not the usual fantasy characters, and has been a blast to write. I hope when my books come out you give them a read. And, if you do, let me know what you think. As always, I value your input.
Well, it was a weekend filled with all sorts of emotions. Happy to be getting my new carpet, tired from taking everything we own and stuffing it in the garage, but then a sense of accomplishment once we saw it all put back together. Our house is feeling more like a home now.
But the most emotional part of the weekend has been watching the terrible news of a gunman entering a movie theater here in Denver, Aurora actually, and killing 12 people and injuring countless others. My heart and prayers go out to the victims and their family and friends. I cannot imagine how hard it must be to go through the pain they are. They did not deserve to die such a senseless death. I have seen the pictures and cry each time they show one of the people that died. The six year old girl tugged my heart the most, what a senseless tragedy.
I am glad that they caught the man who did this horrible act, but I do wish he didn't have the luxury of being alive right now when so many aren't.
I hope this week is off to a good start and that we can get back to a sense of normal. Please send prayers and love to these victims and their loved ones. I also pray that justice will prevail.
