Working The Election

For the first time in my adult life, I worked the election this year. My mother has been an election judge for years. What a process! I learned so much and although it was hard work, I had fun!

I didn't work in the poll places, instead I worked in the warehouse excepting the ballets as they came in. We scanned them and straightened them out for the counters. And to tell you the truth, I was amazed that people still waited until election day to vote, there was thousands of them!

But, I was glad to see that people voted and it seemed to me, a lot more voted this year than in the past. That's a good thing!

For the life of me I cannot understand why someone wouldn't want to exercise their right to vote. People have died for that right!

Anyway, back to the fun. I met some great people while hanging out in that warehouse. Ann, Marsha, Jimmy, David, Scott, and Mike. There were Republicans and Democrats working together and we were a great team! Altogether we had about 30 people working. I felt bad when I had to leave by 5:00 and couldn't continue to help, (I was told 5:00 and made plans) but we still worked 9 hrs, so it wasn't a total loss.

I also talked about my book and the two ladies want me to let them know when my book is launched! I'm always workin' it!

I hope I get the chance to work the next election. I look forward to it. It's always great to meet new friends and work across the aisle!

Until next week, I hope all of you have a great weekend! Drop me a comment if you get a chance.

Love, Lisa
