I'm Conquering My World

The distractions that life hands you are usually the normal stuff - like having to run errands, go to the grocery store, pick up the kids, and the like. In my world they aren't simply distractions, they are interruptions.

It is how it's always been in my world. You would think I'd be used to it by now, but I think the older I get, the more things get on my nerves.

Recently the new aggravations are having to look for a place to move to by the end of June. The problem isn't so much hunting for a place, but the affordability. In Denver now the rents have doubled, seemingly over night. I have found a few places where the price is within reason, but most are full. Why? Because these places are smart enough to know that if it's a good price they will always be full.

I wish the other complexes would take heart and learn from these places.

The other thing I noticed is the market is saturated. On Craigslist alone there was 2500 home/apt ads for Denver metro. That doesn't count all the other sites with listings. Eventually these companies will learn in order to fill your vacant places you need to bring down the price. The greed is rampant!

Next, it's my health. I received a message on my Kaiser page from the doctor stating I have a serious health problem. Although, I'm not going to say what it is on here, but I do question it's merit. So now I have to spend more money for doctor's appts and possibly medication that we simply can't afford. (My husband gets several prescriptions as it is that we struggle to pay for.)

I'm not looking for sympathy, only stating the way my world is. It's almost like the writing Gods have it in for me. All I want to do is concentrate on my books, but something always prevents me.

But I am ignoring the Gods! I have sent my first chapter for critique. I will write - if it kills me! That's my new motto! No more stopping the process with tick bites, pneumonia, and squirrels entering my house! No more upsets with landlords or bills!

I'm conquering my life! I'm setting the rules! This ends now!

At least that's my new attitude.

I hope it works!

Take care all and don't forget to download Fable for free here - Free Fable Download

Have a great weekend all. See you next week!

I'm working the critique today and will have it to you soon. But first, I have to interrupt myself and run some errands (see quote above).

I'm also keeping an ear open for places with reasonable rent for both you guys and my daughter. Rents are ridiculous all around, this is true. I believe the right thing will come along.

    Keep pressing on!

  2. Hi Lisa. Things will work out for you. I have gone through similar stuff, but have always reached the top. Praying for you. You are strong, and your tenacity is beyond description. I expect to hear a positive report from you. Blessings.
